I am finally, after nearly 2 years, getting close to finishing my 1934 Ford 3 window coupe build. From a powder coated frame to the new roof and nearly everything in between replaced, I hit a major snag today. While trying to pinch pennies, perhaps at the wrong places, the passengers side door window channel broke. It was so weak that it could not take any more cranking up and down. My question is: Where can I get an NOS, NORS, an original re-pop or a good used one? I tried several dealers by phone today and nearly all, to the man, told me that what they had or could get, are reproductions that come from either Argentina or China and all of those are very poor quality and they would not stand behind them. I even had one gentleman tell me that if I bought one, I could not send it back if it failed as it is that crummy. Does anyone in the club know where I can get that metal window channel? Post a pic of it with a ruler next to it . These are the kind of item pics and dimensions work better than #'s sometimes . These aren't that rare and NOS ones are usually the long type you cut back for your application .

ThirT4, I had the same problem with my 34 Fordor a few years ago. I bought a repro channel that was all wrong. Solution: # 1 Carefully measure and sketch the original, noting the distance from the regulator roller to the channel STOP screw (the brass screw in the end of the original channel which you'll also have to move on thr repo) # 2 Sweat the replacement arm off the repro channel. # 3 " " original arm (the part that hooks to the regulator) off the original channel if your measring is done to yor satisfaction. # 4 Weld the old arm to the new channel using your measurements. After doing it once, I learned that next time I'll find a better channel than the repro one. Maybe even modify one from another old car with real steel instead of the cheap cr*p that the repo was made of. 1934 Ford's since 1972
