Topic: Cluth Adjustment

I am having a clutch adjustment problem. We installed a rebuilt 59A '46 engine into a '41 Ford. The engine had a 10" flywheel so I ordered a 10" clutch and pressure plate to replace the 9" that was in it. The car has a '41 transmission. After we got the engine hooked up to the transmission we found we could not shift it into gear. We tried to adjust the clutch. When we let the clutch out there is no free play. The clutch engages right off the floor. There is not enough throw and there is no adjustment left. Suggestions ?

There is no difference in adjustment between the 9" clutch and the 10" clutch.

Check to make sure that the throwout bearing fork is seated in the recess in the bearing holder. You may be able to see this through the inspection widow at the top of the transmission.

Check for wear in the clutch pedal bushing and the cross-shaft bushings in the transmission.
