Is there a general consensus as to value of a recent quality restoration verses one done say 25 years ago still in like condition? Asking prices for the older ones seem high to me.

The scope and intent of every restoration is different and one would hope the true quality of the parts and labor invested are reflected on the price .... the devil's in the details. At least if you purchase an older restoration, what worked and didn't work should be more obvious. Key is to educate yourself, take your time to closely inspect the vehicle offered, ask questions AND learn the vehicle's history.

The value of a car is what a willing buyer and seller agree to. Look at the car and then determine what you are willing to pay for it. Just because a restoration is older does not mean that it is worth less. It may have been a higher quality restoration to begin with. Some asking prices are just dreams and others are from willing sellers. Tom
