I just purchased a 53 Sunliner- color on ID plate is B and trim is Y-production code is 28J417- can someone decode these for me- I understand the VIN, not sure of the others. Thanks!

Jim Y equals Red and Black leather which was changed to vinyl most likely when yours was built. 28J is for built on September 28 1953 and was 412 on the line. Don H

Wow, that was easy! Thanks, guys,car is now the sungate ivory color that was used on the Indy 500 car, but everything else appears to be correct/original per the codes. Thanks again!
