Topic: 1941 Coil & Condenser

OK - My 41 has been running good, but by daughter left the switch on a few months go. My fault - younger folks wouldn't know better.

Today my 41 stalled and left on the side of the road. I suspect the coil based on the some of the posts I have been reading.

I took the coil and condenser off. The coil is manufactured by Niehoeff & Co (sicker is still attached) and the condenser is manufactured by Holley Carburetor Co with the number 32876-S stamped on it.

Are these original equipment?

NO not OEM. Find or advertise a ford "script" coil wanted 41 should be Brown but a black one would work also and send to Fl. for rebuilding and get a NAPA cond # IH-200 it can be inatalled on a 41 coil. OMO ken ct.

The contact in FL.is George "Skip" Haney 29436 Taralane Dr. Punta Gorda, Fl. 33982 skip@fordsrus.com
He is highly recommended and has a 3-4 day turn around so you will be back up and running soon.

You should also check the distributor points. When the ignition switch is left on, it is possible to burn points as well as coil. It is best to get a coil rewound by Skip, as any of those coils built back in the day have inferior insulations to what Skip uses now.

Skip usually has coils on hand if your isn't rebuildable. Most of us over the years have "cooked" at least one coil by forgetting to turn off the ignition. An on-post battery cutoff switch is a good prevention.
