where and how do i install this gasket

The cork goes on the bucket under the lens with the narrow side against the bucket and the brass retainer around the cork to hold it in place. This did not work for me, when i installed the lens it broke ($30) when tightening the hold down screws. The gasket was too thick and not very pliable. So I then placed the cork with the wide side down with some adhesive no brass retainer this way it was thinner. Install (new)lens and "VERY" carefully tighten screws while making sure the glass is held in place without putting much pressure on it. Install the cork so you have an opening at the bottom for drain. Take your time, be very careful.

thanks for the info. I was having the same problem. I thought about trimming the cork down a little.

I'm not sure if the 37 is the same as my '34 but it sure sounds similar. On my '34 I replaced the dried out hard cork with a length of screen door retainer. I'm sure it has a proper name but it's the round plastic strip that fits into the groove on an aluminum screen frame that holds the screen in place. Had to trim slightly where there were rivets but it worked very well. FWIW
