I'm pretty green when it comes to the early Ford V-8's. Can someone give me an indication of how much time, effort, and expense it would take to replace a 6 with a V-8 in a 1950 F-1? I want a 1949 or 1950. I have spotted a good one that I like, but it has a 6-cylinder which I would never be fully satisfied with. I know there are a lot of them out there and more will come along but this one is priced right, in the condition I am looking for and in color combination I want.

Buy it man ,theres nothing wrong with the 6 in those yrs. Its a strong runner and possibly more reliable than the 8 . OMO ken ct. Truck looks super.

Go for it! Keep it as a six. It is a good strong engine and will be something different that you can have to separate yourself from the crowd.

Take it for a test drive, and if you like it buy it and keep it as a 6. The 6 has better pickup than the V-8 and drive just as well. The truck is pretty in the photos and if it drives as good as it looks, you have a winner. Tom
