I was told there is no funtion/fit difference between the RH and LH heads and in that Ford sometimes put the LH 81A-6050 heads on both sides. Sounds nutty to me. the heads do look the same with center water outlets, water temp ports on the same side, bolt patterns

heads will work on both sides, to be correct the numbers on the heads should face each other at the rear of the block
