Does the reproduction steering wheel for the 1940 ford that is for sale in most catalogs fit the 1942 thru 1947 ford pickups? I cannot find a reproduction wheel for the 42 -47 pickups.

I believe that all of the shafts were the same size, but there may be other interference points.

I should have added that you may be able to restore or have your steering wheel restored.

There are 2 different steering wheels for 1940 Era cars and trucks...both with same size and shape that are interchangeable. I will explain the usage and differences now. 1940 standard car used the same wheel as 1940 to 1947 ford trucks up to 1 ton. This wheel was the "plain" 2 spoke design with ribs on the spokes. The 1940 deluxe car used the same basic wheel...except it had 2 stainless steel strips inserted into the spokes near the center hub. This gave a more upscale look to the wheel. Every other feature of the wheel is the same as the std. And truck wheel though. This deluxe wheel is what is currently available as reproduction. You can use this wheel on your truck and while technically it is not correct, having the extra trim on it....it sure is a nice touch. Hope this helps.

In addition to jal9846's info the repo'40 deluxe wheel is of excellent quality
