I have a 51 F1 pickup. It idles too high. When I back off the idle adjustment screw on the carb it reaches its low limit, but the idle speed is not as low as it really should e. It would be great if the throttle arm from the fire wall was adjustable, but t isn't. Any suggestions?

check to see if the carb gasket is enterfering with the throttle plates

It is adjustable , just put a slight bend in the rod it will shorten it or cut it and use a connector with 2 screws in it to make it longer. Summit has them im out of them right now but they are available. ken ct.

You should not have to lengthen the rod from the accelerator if you have the correct rod(11.69" long), the correct return spring and the correct carburetor. Disconnect the throttle rod from the carburetor and see if you can adjust the idle to the correct speed. If you can, check for binds or bent parts in the accelerator linkage. If you cannot adjust the idle, check for leaks in the carburetor and the engine timing. Tom
