Topic: 51 Ford F1 circuit breaker

PeterFord    -- 01-10-2015 @ 1:58 PM
I am re-wiring my truck. What is the purpose of the circuit breaker located under the dash and attached to the oil/bat/fuel/amp gauge? Also, is there a place to get a replacement, either reproduction or modern alternate?
Many thanks. Peter

There are two circuit breakers. One protects the headlights, and the other protects the rest of the lighting system. They don't have anything to do with the instruments, they're just mounted there.

I have never seen new circuit breakers. If you need replacements, your best bet is to buy a junk instrument cluster and use the ones that come with it. A cluster is usually listed on eBay.

Richard: Thank you very much. Mine probably work, but they are dusty and old and I thought they might need replacing, but probably don't.

From my experience, yours probably do work.

I found them. Believe it or not NAPPA had them but I got them on line at
Midwest Bus Parts Inc.
Many thanks

Peter
