Topic: Restored '34 BB stake body truck

tbcoons    -- 03-18-2014 @ 9:32 AM
I have a 1934 BB stake body truck, 157" wheelbase with a V8 engine that is currently in pieces except for the engine. I am wanting to but it back together as original but am not sure how everything is supposed to be, especially the wiring. Would like to take pictures of one that has been restored. Any help?

Wire looms are available from the usual vendors and may contain a wiring diagram. In any case it is not too complicated. If you have trouble finding a diagram for a BB you may have to work off a wiring diagram for a 34 V8 pickup which may be easier to find.

I'm not just interested in wiring only. It's all the other stuff as well. But thanks for another link to parts!

I guess BB's are very rare.

You are correct in saying that BB's are rare. I suggest that you look in the Roster for someone that has one.

Where are you located? Anywhere close to Upper Michigan? My computer has been having problems with attaching pictures or I would send you some. There is a picture of my truck in the EFV8 Truck Gallery for 1932. Trucks were commonly used hard and cobbled up to get the last mile out of them. They were also not usually favored by collectors. I remember passing up a pristine Model AA for $250 in the sixties because I thought it would not be fast enough. Got a lot mote time on my hands now! I am willing to help you any way I can. contact me at oldbeemers@charter.net if you wish.

I have 1934 pickup and a photo is in the galley as well. I also have 1937 131" dump truck, that is just about finished. The wiring for both trucks were purchased from Rhode Island Wiring, West Kingston, Rhode Island. (401)-789-1955. They list wiring for 1933-34 Trucks in their catalog. Give them a call. I was very pleased with their service and their wiring.
