Topic: Driver's side window replacement

I have a crack in my driver's side window. Is there a source for a replacement window that could/would come with the bottom and side molding attached? I can't see how the window comes apart from the molding pieces. Looks like a difficult process. Any suggestions appreciated.

I am going to assume that your car is a 1940 or later, because you said "side molding".

Once you have the widow out of the car, remove the screws that attach the vent window seal (side molding) to the bottom channel. Pry off the bottom channel carefully, so you do not break the glass further. Measure where the channel was located on the old glass, so you can install it in the same place on the new glass. Tap on the vent window seal mounting with a soft face hammer to remove the seal from the glass.

Clean both pieces of any remaining glass setting tape and then wrap the new glass setting tape around the bottom of the glass and install the bottom channel. Repeat for the vrnt window seal.

Thanks for window info. I somehow neglected to say I had a '40 Mercury coupe. Getting the old window out is a difficult job. Appreciate your advice. BTW I also had to replace both door latch springs. That was a job. Finding the upper spring was tough.
