Hi, recently joined. My father purchased a 1939 ford mercury deluxe sedan, 85hp 3spd on the floor. is still original with the only additionals being widened wheels, 12v conversion and aftermarket shocks all round.
im after the correct spring for the front end as it has started to sag on the front rh side. its a rh model. The car is in new Zealand so parts are limited.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I recently replaced front & rear springs in my 39 Merc. I like original parts, however in this area I opted to use leaf springs from Posies, they feature teflon like buttons at end of each leaf, they ride really nice. The springs are available with regular or reverse eyes, I used regular in the rear and reverse up front which lowers it about 2 in.

The 39 Mercury used the same springs as the Ford Deluxe. You should be able to find an 11 or 12 leaf front spring in New Zealand or maybe Australia. If not, you can have the leaves re-arched or buy a new spring from the USA.
