Topic: '47 Merc 6V Cigar Lighter Element

I am not a smoker but the cigar lighter element in the attached pic is burned out and needs replacing. Have been unable to locate a direct replacement - only cheaply manufactured product from China without the black insulating material. The receptacle in the dash has been confirmed to be powered and functional. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A couple of potential replacements were found on ebay though the sellers have yet to respond to a couple of questions confirming contents and functionality.

Am also wondering whether it is better to have the original, non-functioning element in for Rouge Class - Interior judging or better to have it functioning properly with the cheaply made knock-offs. Thoughts here appreciated as well - this is the only item on the interior/dash which is not functioning.

A second pic with the knob detached is also included in a second post.

Second pic - the washer under the knob is actually polished stainless but the flash gave the finish an odd look/optical illusion.

Please consider this discussion thread closed. NOS in the box surprisingly found locally today from a stumbled-upon source.
