Does anyone have a picture of the cover plate that is mounted over this opening in the door? Should be the same for Ford and Mercury 52-53.

I have the drawing in the Lincoln Body Parts manual and the drawing in the Lincoln - Mercury Repair and Adjusting manual. Unfortunately there is no way to get dimensions. The cover overlaps the hole and is recessed in the hole area. If you would like me to, I can post the body parts catalog drawing. Tom

The drawing in the Body parts book is very similar to the drawing that you posted. It is also for a 4-door. Are you looking for a cover to use as a pattern to make one for your car? The drawings will not help as they are not to scale. You could try the Archives at the Henry Ford for an engineering drawing with the dimensions. Tom

TomO: Yes I am looking for a picture that I can get the measurements from and then reverse engineer the cover. Ideally I would like to get my hands on at least a piece of one to then look for a similar material made today.I wouold guess very simular to the material used for the trunk inserts.
