Hey Mike I am getting ready to paint the steering column on my 40 Standard Tudor. What parts of the shift mech.are painted brairwood brow? I am talking about the parts near the steering box that holds the bottom of the shift tube. Milne looks like the "L " bracket that hold the shift tube at the bottom of the column was painted black. Thanks very much Ronnie

Here is a photo of a steering column that I believe is correctly painted. The clamps are left unpainted. Tom

Ronnie, Shift lever, shift tube, column, column "drop" are all Briarwood Brown. As has been stated previously, the clamps remained in their natural (cast) finish. The brackets and levers were painted gloss black. Kind regards, Mike Kubarth
