Brooks, the original bed wood is in three pieces and they are "dove tailed' together. Original wood in good shape is hard to find and even harder to get the three pieces apart after you find it. If you want the original style wood you can get it from Northern Classic Trucks in Michigan. There is also a thin layer(1/8") of belting that goes between the wood and the frame. Unless you have the proper tools to do the "dove tailing" and are an experienced wood worker I would recommend buying the wood.
