kubes does the track on a forty supposed to to look like this or did someone grind it .. I have spent more time on trying to adjust these windows. I would like to see how they did it on the assembly line.

It is hard to tell from your photo exactly where the cutout is, but there should be 2 cutouts for the rollers to enter the channel. What type of problem are you having with the adjustment of the window? Here is a link to the window installation instructions. the convertibles are different and have two adjustable bolt that hit the stops. if i try and crank the window all the way up i am 3/8" short and if i go further it will hit the two slots and fall out of the track..

That notch does not look original to me. I don't believe it belongs. It looks ragged along the edges like it was done with a grinder or hacksaw. If it was original it would have been cut out with a die and would have smooth edges. From what you are saying, if that notch was not there the window would go up where you wanted. More evidence it doesn't belong.

Shogun, Sorry I am so tardy replying... Those notches are factory as much as they look less than "professional", rest assured, they are correct. From here, it's difficult to diagnose what you may need to do in order to adjust the window(s) correctly. Is the problem fore and aft or is it maintaining itself straight up & down? regards, Mike (Kube)

The convertible channel is 24 1/8" long and should be centered on the glass. The lower track, starts 2 1/2" from each end. It has 2 bracket to hold the rollers that keep the window straight. Check these dimensions to be sure that you have the correct channel If you have the correct channel, check your top adjustments and vent window adjustments. Thanks Kube, I didn't go look at mine because at the time I was several hundred miles away from it. That info is good to know as I haven't taken mine apart yet. Thanks for the clarification. It is GOOD to know when you are wrong like I was.
