Kubes I am trying to put the spring hinges on my 40,, the hood sits on the cowl great but the spring mount to the hood does not line up . I tried the old spring hinge and bought the new s.s. Hinges ,, that's a joke a magnet sticks to them . Did they not line up originally that good . I bent the new one but there is an inch of space. The angles are wrong

The repops are cr*p... plain and simple. I would suggest restoring a pair of authentic supports. Typically all that is required is to drill out the rivet, weld the (elongated) holes and drill new holes (round) to size. Install a new rivet and done!
