43rd Annual Family Picnic and Car Show hosted by The Big Valley Regional Group #26 at Micke Grove Regional Park, San Joaquin covered area, near Lodi. Activities will start at 10 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. Car registration entry fee is $25 which includes 2 lunch tickets, a dash plaque, 1 door prize ticket and free coffee and donuts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Additional lunch tickets available for $3 each. There will also be Hood Ornament Races with trophy awards. 'Out of your trunk' swap meet. All make and model cars welcome. Trophys will be awarded. The 39th Annual Spring Fling will be held on May 24 – 27, 2013, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, sponsored by the Kansas City RG #55. Any room is $80.00 per night and the owner will honor the group rate 2 days before and 2 days after the scheduled dates of arrival on Friday, May 24, 2013, and departure on Monday, May 27, 2013. April 15th is the deadline for room rate. Activities and Things to Do at the Spring Fling SATURDAY – May 25, 2013 Tour Harry S Truman Library and Museum. We will leave the Comfort Inn & Suites in approximately 10 vehicle caravans at 8:00 am and drive north up the outer road to a four lane highway that we will have mostly to ourselves, junction with US-24 highway and then drive to the Truman Library where we are the car show between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm. The Truman Library has been hailed as America’s “best presidential museum” (Dallas Morning News), the Truman Library offers theaters, a Museum Store, and dozens of interactive and hands-on exhibits. Step into a replica of Truman’s Oval Office, test your presidential potential in Decision Theaters, and experience some of the most dramatic moments in American History. Since Harry Truman was President during the time of our vehicles this is an excellent place to visit. Visit CLINTON’S SODA FOUNTAIN at 100 West Maple Street in Independence. Clinton’s is the site of Harry Truman’s first job. It is a privately owned soda fountain and gift shop that is open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on Saturday. Visit HISTORIC INDEPENDENCE SQUARE. This is where thousands began their journey West, and Harry Truman started his political career. There are covered wagon tours available and over fifteen specialty and antique shops to shop. Visit the STONEHAUS VINEYARD & WINERY located at 24607 NE Colburn Road, Lee’s Summit, MO., and is open from noon to 6:00 pm through Sunday. The winery features award-winning wines, and a deli which offers summer sausage, cheese, and crackers. Stonehaus offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy their award-winning wines and a panoramic view of the vineyard and berry farm. SUNDAY – MAY 26, 2013 The Driving and People Games will be held in the spacious parking lot of the Chapel Ridge Event Center which is conveniently located immediately across the street from the host hotel. Games will begin at 9:00 am. There will be restrooms available in the event center and some shade. Visit MISSOURI TOWN 1855 which is located on the east side of Lake Jacomo in Fleming Park. Visitors can take in the sights and sounds of old time Missouri. One can see what a progressive farming community, spread across some 30 sloping acres, looked like in from the 1820s to 1860s and is composed of 25 original structures, furnishings and equipment. Senior rate is $ 3.00. The 39th Annual Spring Fling Banquet will be held in the Chapel Ridge Event Center with seating beginning at 6:30 pm and a delicious buffet being served at 7:00 pm. Awards and testimonials will begin after we have all had our way with the buffet. |

On June 8, 2013, there will be a Classic Car and Boat Show at the Stockton Waterfront. There will be a special area for Early Ford V-8 vehicles. This event is free of charge. The boats that are attending are classic racing boats from the 20's and 30's and a few classic yachts that were built in Downtown Stockton. There will be food for purchase, music, various vendors and lots more at the downtown Stockton waterfront in front of the Waterfront Warehouse located at 445 W.
